When Morgana went to bed and Big D finally left, the apartment grew quiet again. The hum of the computer was the only sound. Sid didn’t stop. Hours slipped away unnoticed. She said firmly, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"You need to stop. It’s almost morning!"

When he didn’t respond, she gave him a light shake. Sid’s head tilted toward her slowly, and when he looked up, her breath caught.

His eyes were half open, dull and red, his face pale under the monitor’s light. His movements were slow, mechanical— like the very zombies he had been fighting all night.

"Sid... oh my god, You look like one of them."

Sid blinked sluggishly, then smiled weakly.

"Guess I finally... became part of the game."

Morgana groaned, pressing a palm to her forehead.

"You idiot. Turn that off before I throw your computer out the window."

Sid logged out, shuffled toward the bed like a sleepwalking zombie, and collapsed into it—out cold in seconds. Morgana sighed, headed to the bathroom, and took a quick shower.

Moments later she stepped out, skin flushed and damp. She wrapped a towel around herself, the plush fabric clinging to her curves. As she dried off, her thoughts drifted to Sid, still asleep in their shared bedroom. A small smile played on her lips as she remembered his triumphant expression when he reached Wave 100.

She padded quietly into the bedroom, expecting to find him in the same position she had left him in. Instead, she froze in the doorway, her breath catching in her throat. Sid was sprawled across his bed, his face buried in the pillow. His shirt had ridden up during the night, exposing a strip of pale skin and the dimples above his buttocks.
