Chapter 296: Chapter 296: Acupoints
"You two should go inside the temporal storage from now on," Silas said firmly. "Everything will be under our control."
Helena and Victor nodded. Ivy waved her hand again, and in an instant, they disappeared back inside her space. Ivy turned to Silas, Kael, Felix, and Ember.
"Now we can begin the second part of our plan," she said with determination.
Everyone nodded. Since all the captives had been rescued, the only thing left was to confront and completely wipe out the organization... one that might have existed since the Apocalypse or even before it.
With that thought, they sat quietly on the truck’s floor, waiting.
Soon, the vehicle came to a stop. Everyone exchanged a final nod before entering the temporal storage. Once inside, the entire truck became empty.
Moments later, the guards arrived and opened the truck doors... only to find it completely vacant.
"What the...?" One guard gasped, rubbing his eyes in disbelief. Is this an illusion? Or is this reality?
Trembling, he climbed into the truck, searching every corner as if the captives might simply be invisible.
But there was nothing... only empty air. Pale-faced, he stumbled out and ran to the other guards who were chatting nearby.
He looked at Isaac, panic in his voice. "All the captives... they’re gone!"
Isaac froze, frowning deeply. Without a word, he sniffed the guard’s breath suspiciously. "Did you drink?"
The guard shoved him away, trembling. "I didn’t! I swear I didn’t! Go look for yourself... there’s no one in the truck!"
Isaac’s eyes narrowed. His expression hardened as he marched toward the truck. When he reached the back, his worst fear was confirmed... it was indeed empty.
For a long moment, he stood in silence, fists clenched. "It was them," he muttered coldly.
"The pink-haired girl and the brown-haired one. They’re the ones behind this rescue."
They had carried this type of plan for years without fail. For it to collapse now could only mean one thing... the anomaly they had noticed earlier had truly been real.
"Inform the captain," Isaac ordered grimly. "Mobilize the rest. Search the entire area! I suspect they used some kind of mass teleportation technique."
The guards nodded and dispersed. Isaac personally began inspecting the truck.
Suddenly, Ivy, Ember, Felix, Silas, and Kael appeared out of nowhere. Calmly, they walked toward Isaac, who was crouched and examining the floor. Silas tapped him on the shoulder.
Isaac waved dismissively. "Don’t bother me. Go finish your assigned task."
Silas tilted his head. "Oh, we’re here to help," he said lightly.
Annoyed, Isaac turned around... only to freeze.
The man behind him was a stranger, and beside him stood the very same pink-haired and brown-haired women.
His eyes widened in shock, but before he could utter a single word, Silas’s fist connected squarely with his jaw. Isaac dropped to the ground, unconscious.
Ivy blinked in disbelief.
’Seriously? That fast? Are these even guards?’
Even Silas was stunned. "I swear, that wasn’t my intention," he said awkwardly.
Their plan had been to tie Isaac up and extract information about the human trafficking organization’s hierarchy. No one expected him to faint instantly.
Ivy sighed. "Let me get my mother and father."
With a graceful wave of her hand, Helena and Victor appeared.
Helena frowned in confusion. "Ivy? You said we wouldn’t need to do anything. What happened?"
She was mainly worried that her daughter was feeling unwell.
Ivy pointed at Isaac’s unconscious form. "Can you wake him up? Maybe by using acupoints or something?"
Helena nodded without hesitation, kneeling beside Isaac. She pressed several precise points along his neck and shoulder.
Helena had a remarkable background.
She came from a country where traditional medicine and home remedies were deeply valued.
Though her parents had forced her to study traditional medicine and Ayurveda,
Helena’s curiosity had led her beyond that.
When she first arrived in Gotham City, she pursued formal medical education, later specializing in biology.
Her fascination with genetic hybridization drew her toward genetic engineering, where she eventually became one of the most renowned experts in the world... hailed as the top female genetic engineer globally.
She had even participated in several secret national-level projects.
Victor, too, shared her passion for genetics and possessed vast scientific knowledge.
However, compared to Helena, who mastered both traditional and modern medical equipment, he fell slightly short. Yet, he never once felt envy toward her brilliance.
Helena quickly pressed a few acupoints. Isaac’s eyes fluttered open. He stared around, stunned for a heartbeat, then his expression sharpened and he tried to lunge at them.
’Not today,’ Silas thought, stepping forward and grabbing Isaac’s wrist.
Felix jumped up and clamped onto Isaac’s leg, making the man cry out in pain.
Before he could scream again, Felix’s hand stretched, the flesh and muscle lengthening like a rubber band, and he looped it around Isaac’s face until the man was gagged and firmly bound.
Felix snorted and laughed. "You look like a roasted turkey," he said, amusement in his voice.
Ember shook her head, chuckling. "That’s not how we should use Felix’s power. Tie his hands and slip in a paralytic so he won’t scream and alert anyone."
Ivy shook her head. "We don’t have a paralytic. Better to beat the truth out of him. How about leaving him with just one breath? People are often sincere when they are on their last breath!"
’What the fuck...’ Isaac thought, eyes widening as fear and disbelief warred in his face.
’I thought the most dangerous one was the brown-haired woman when in reality... the true ruthless one is this... pink-haired one!’ He forced his features into a pleading mask, trying to inspire pity.
He shook his head repeatedly and tried to gain their attention when Felix suddenly pretended to have just noticed his struggle and loosened the grip on Isaac’s mouth.
"Did you want to say something, mister? You are free to talk about the so-called loyalty towards your boss, and we will kill you to let you rest in peace!"
"Please... don’t... " Isaac stammered, voice trembling. "I’ll tell you everything. I won’t resist."
