He laughed—low, dark, and utterly infuriating. "You... look perfect. Messy, worn out... cute in the most helpless way. I could stare at you all day."

He reached over to the nightstand, took the glass, and pressed it to my lips. "Drink it all."

I sipped obediently, then let my head flop back onto his chest. "I feel... alive now," I muttered dramatically.

"Yes, sure," I sighed, glaring up at him weakly. "...but you better take care of me . I’m a mess because of you, you know."

My eyes practically sparkled . "Really?"

He nodded, all casual and composed. "Yes."

A giggle escaped me before I could stop it, my lips curling into a grin. "That means... I can just laze around?"

Alvar chuckled, a low, dangerous sound that made my stomach twist. His gaze slid down my body, and he touched my chest gently with the tips of his fingers, tracing the faint bruises and marks he’d left.

"It’s beautiful," he murmured, almost reverently. "Seeing you covered in my marks."

"...Huh?" I blinked up at him, confused, half-scandalized.

He pulled me closer, foreheads touching, his breath warm and slow against my lips. His voice dropped, deep and possessive, almost like a vow.

I stared at him, my cheeks burning despite every nerve screaming in protest. My lips parted slightly before I gave the tiniest, shyest nod. "...Yeah."
