Everyone thought that Bai Zihan would fall, with injuries piling up.
However, one of the Void Refinement cultivators saw something that left him speechless for a while.
“What? I was sure that I had injured his right shoulder. How is it already healed?”
Yes, the injuries which should have been getting more and more were rather disappearing.
After all, Bai Zihan has a Supreme Dao Bone which not only gives a good Qi recovery ability but also a healing ability.
With that realization, what was once said to be inevitable wasn’t inevitable anymore.
If the injuries get healed, then what are they waiting for?
In the first place, even injuring Bai Zihan is a very difficult thing to achieve.
Not to mention, his body doesn’t easily get injured, and even against quite powerful attacks, Bai Zihan doesn’t get caught off guard and manages to dodge or block their attacks.
Now they found out that their hard work had been for naught.
No wonder Bai Zihan wasn’t getting scared and was getting more excited as the battle raged on.
It wasn’t an act but rather because those injuries were doing nothing to him in the first place.
They thought of killing Bai Zihan in one swift powerful attack, but those attacks could only cause some injuries which would heal eventually.
On the other hand, the six of them-their bodies were full of injuries.
Despite taking healing pills mid-fight, their healing wasn’t as good as Bai Zihan’s natural healing ability.
In the first place, it wasn’t like the pills healed every part of the body. Perhaps high-ranking pills might, but not the Rank-2 pills that they took.
Not to mention, the effect of the pills decreases the more they are used frequently.
So, as the fight continued, it was the six of them who had more injuries than Bai Zihan.
“What kind of body is that? How can his injuries be easily healed?”
The six of them were getting desperate, and rather than killing Bai Zihan, the battle was slowly turning into a fight for survival.
Moreover, there was one more thing that bugged them.
“And how come his Qi is not yet depleted?”
After all, the six of them were almost out of their Qi after going all out for quite some time.
If that was the case for them, then Bai Zihan, who had been non-stop using high-level techniques, should have been exhausted long ago.
But the reality was that he was still going strong like he didn’t even care about his Qi reserve.
Well, with the Supreme Dao Bone, he doesn’t have to worry about Qi. Not to mention, with the Myriad Breathing Technique, his Qi is refined and powerful. “Hah… Hah…”
The six of them were breathing heavily as exhaustion caught up to them both physically and mentally.
It was true for others who were also fighting. Only one person was still acting like the fight was just getting started.
“What’s wrong? You’ve become quite slower compared to when we started,” Bai Zihan called out.
He had been testing out his techniques and fighting quite well and realized just how powerful he had become.
Truly, his resilience and defense were as good as they could be. He definitely doesn’t lack Qi as well.
The only problem was his attack power.
(As long as I comprehend Fate Severing Slash, that too would be satisfied.)
He was more than satisfied with his current power.
The six of them seemed to have made a decision in their hearts.
They wouldn’t win this fight and needed to get out of here.
One of them gritted his teeth and turned toward the Second Prince, shouting
above the chaos,
“Your Highness! This battle-cannot be won! We will retreat!”
The Second Prince’s expression darkened instantly.
“What did you just say?!”
He took a step forward, his voice booming.
“Are you admitting defeat? Where is your pride as cultivators of the Void
Refinement Realm?!”
The assassin who spoke clenched his jaw, veins bulging on his forehead. His patience snapped.
“Pride?”
He barked.
“You want us to continue fighting that?!”
He pointed at Bai Zihan, who stood wreathed in blood, but his face was full of a smile.
“How can we even win when the opponent has infinite Qi and regenerates like a monster?!”
He shouted, frustrated.
“We’ve done everything possible! His body doesn’t break, his Qi doesn’t run out, while ours does! What do you expect us to do-die for you?!”
The Second Prince’s face turned pale with rage.
The assassin spat blood, his tone now cold and final.
“If you want him dead, then perhaps ask one of your Great Ascension experts to handle him. Because none of us can.”
He wasn’t wrong. Perhaps Great Ascension Experts can handle Bai Zihan.
However, The Great Ascension experts on their side were all locked in battle with Bai Clan elders-and losing ground.
Even with the enemy’s numerical advantage, the Bai Clan elders held firm, some even fighting two opponents at once and still pushing them back.
One of the Void Refinement cultivators let out a bitter laugh.
“This Bai Clan… it’s full of monsters.”
Another nodded grimly. “If we stay, we’ll die for nothing. We’re leaving.”
The Second Prince’s eyes widened.
“You dare-!”
But it was too late.
The six assassins-no longer willing to throw their lives away-were getting ready to escape now.
Others who weren’t directly under the Second Prince’s command also began to waver and made their decision to escape.
They too couldn’t beat the Bai Clan members and were even on the verge of getting killed many times, even while ganging up on them.
Since their hope of catching Bai Zihan was already ruined, why should they stay here? Just to get killed eventually?
Bai Zihan watched them as many began to make their run and others hesitated.
“You can come at me anytime,” he called after their retreating forms, “but don’t think you can escape whenever you want.”
“Grand Elder! Kill them all!”
Bai Zihan said.
“What-? You fool! I told you-your Grand Elder is already taken care of-“
But he didn’t even get to say what he wanted, as Bai Ren appeared before Bai Zihan.
The Grand Elder’s presence swallowed the air: not loud, but absolute-an old storm contained in a human form.
“How did you find out?”
Bai Ren asked with a smile. “Do you think that I am an idiot like that Second Prince?”
He said. The Second Prince had no time to get angry at the insult since the appearance of Bai Ren greatly shocked him.
“Like those weaklings can even keep you occupied for a second.”
Bai Ren just continued to smile. Indeed, those people sent by the Second Prince couldn’t even keep him occupied for a second, and he had been there since before the fight even began.
He stood there and did nothing even when the Bai Clan was at a disadvantage, as he wanted to see just how much Bai Zihan had grown.
As expected, Bai Zihan didn’t disappoint him.
No!
He had surpassed all of his expectations. Fighting and perhaps even winning against seven Void Refinement Realm cultivators at the age of 18-there was no one like him.
As long as Bai Zihan continued to grow, the Bai Clan would eventually become invincible. Anyway, now that he had watched the fight with expectation and the enemies had already lost hope, it was time for him to make a move.
“No one who tries to kill the Bai Clan’s heir escapes,” he said, his eyes full of Killing Intent.
“Not tonight. Not ever!”
Bai Ren’s final words still echoed through the battlefield like a divine decree- low, cold, and absolute.
And then, in the next instant-he was gone.
A faint ripple of spiritual pressure was the only sign he had ever been there.
The air shivered.
A heartbeat later, blood bloomed across the sky. Those who had tried to flee froze mid-step, eyes widening in confusion.
Thin crimson lines appeared across their bodies before they could even react- then, like fragile clay dolls, they split apart from head to toc.
One breath.
Dozens fell.
The sharp scent of iron filled the air, heavy and suffocating. Even those far away trembled; they couldn’t see the attacker, only the aftermath-a trail of corpses collapsing one after another like wheat before a scythe.
The massacre was silent, elegant, and merciless.
The assassins who moments ago had been running for their lives now littered the ground in two neat halves. The remaining few froze, terror rooting them in place.
Bai Zihan watched, eyes narrowing slightly. For all his composure, even he could feel the sheer weight of Bai Ren’s killing intent pressing on the world.
Just as another scream began to rise in the distance, Bai Zihan realized something and shouted.
“Grand Elder, keep a few alive,” Bai Zihan continued, calm yet commanding.
“I still have questions for them.”
Bai Ren continued his massacre; as for whether he heard him or not, Bai Zihan would only find out later.
Around them, the chaos of the battlefield began to still.
The enemy’s morale had collapsed entirely.
Even the Emperor couldn’t quite hide the tightening of his grip. This time it wasn’t out of anger but rather fear.
The Second Prince beside him, on the other hand, looked utterly pale, his lips trembling as his eyes darted between the fallen corpses and Bai Zihan standing so effortlessly in the blood-soaked ruins.
It was clear to everyone now: The Bai Clan has won.
Since Bai Ren was busy chasing after those who were escaping, at least the
Falling Star Empire’s soldiers and commander were still alive. Though obviously, whether they continued to do so was in Bai Zihan’s hand.
