Chapter 10: 10. So Annoying

"Mr. Riki Khaizer is bidding again with a high price! $750,000! If no one else bids, then the second ring will belong to Mr. Khaizer!"

Riki smiled broadly, even though this time the ring wasn’t for Angeline, and Riki didn’t get triple the price. However, Riki felt very satisfied with the purchase.

He would consider it an investment. Because a diamond ring, especially one with a unique color, would always attract buyers willing to spend a lot of money.

Alvin, Gidion, and their two girlfriends stared in disbelief as Riki successfully paid for all the rings.

"It’s around 650,000$! Are you sure he’s the guy you’ve been bullying all this time?" said Alvin’s girlfriend. The girl truly regretted accepting Alvin as her boyfriend.

"I can’t believe Hannah dumping such a handsome young man just to get someone even more of a loser than the two of you," said Gidion’s girlfriend.

"Why are you talking like that? Riki might have gotten the money from robbing a bank!" retorted Gidion.

Gidion’s girlfriend chuckled, "You’re so stupid. Someone who robs a bank wouldn’t just go around spending the money they stole. He’s probably already been arrested by the police!"

Alvin’s girlfriend nodded, "My father is the director of one of the banks, and now banks have high security. It’s not easy to rob them like it used to be."

Alvin snorted and said, "We’ll see. He’ll definitely be arrested by the police tomorrow."

The two girls just rolled their eyes in annoyance.

Meanwhile, Riki was already at the flower shop to pick up a large pink bouquet for Angeline.

It was a bouquet of various types of cut roses, but all of them were pink.

A soft, fragrant scent filled the air.

Riki was ready to go pick up Angeline. However, he had to change into a better outfit.

The car stopped again, this time at a luxurious and elegant men’s clothing store.

"Can we assist you, sir?" asked the store clerk.

"I like this store, so I want to buy it. Where’s your boss?" Riki asked, pretending to be a wealthy, confident, and arrogant person.

Suddenly, a loud laugh echoed clearly. Riki turned and saw Kaivan standing there, alongside someone quite famous.

Zeno Raynold.

Back then, Zeno was Riki’s friend in high school; he was the school’s owner.

From one of the country’s top conglomerate families, supposedly the number one in the nation.

Despite that, Zeno was the kindest person Riki had ever met. So, Riki was quite happy to see Zeno again after so long, since Zeno had been studying abroad.

However, it was annoying to see Kaivan there.

"Aren’t you supposed to be dating Angeline? Why are you hanging around here and bragging like that? Even if you have money, it doesn’t make sense that you could buy this store," Kaivan said, sounding very annoying, but for some reason, Riki heard a note of concern in his voice.

Is he afraid that Riki can’t afford it? He might think Riki only has a few hundred thousand dollars.

"Don’t say that, Kaivan. Riki might be serious about buying this store. Let’s talk, Riki. I actually want to sell this store because I can’t handle it anymore. I have some other businesses I’m focusing on right now," Zeno said, inviting Riki to sit on the comfortable sofa.

If the owner was Zeno, Riki felt greatly relieved.

"I’m serious about buying this store. How much is it, Zeno?" Riki asked.

Zeno checked something briefly, wrote something on notes, then handed it to Riki.

"I’ll sell it for this much. Do you still want to buy it?" Zeno handed Riki a note. But before Riki could touch it, Kaivan snatched it first.

"What? How can the store’s price be like this, Zen? Are you playing with Riki?" Kaivan asked.

Zeno laughed, then took the note back from Kaivan and handed it to Riki again.

"I’m talking to Riki, not you."

Riki took the note and looked at the numbers Zeno had written on it.

Then Riki looked back at Zeno and nodded, "Okay, that’s the price, right? I’ll pay for it, so let’s do the transaction now," said Riki. There was no hesitation in his voice; he looked at Zeno with confidence.

Kaivan couldn’t believe it. Suddenly, Riki wanted to buy a luxury store for one million dollars.

It was a large store located on a famous street known for its wealthy customers. Most of the stores there were luxury brand stores.

Although the store was indeed large and had a well-known name, selling it for 1.2 million dollars was slightly more expensive than the market price.

"Get everything ready immediately, Liam," Zeno said.

"Yes, sir!"

"It won’t be finished tonight, Riki. I’ll meet you tomorrow. Besides, don’t you have a date with Angeline?" Zeno asked.

Riki was startled; he had forgotten that he was there to find a nice outfit, not to buy a store.

The system had almost made Riki forget.

"Ah, right, I actually came here to find a suit to wear. I can’t possibly wear shabby clothes for dating at Skydine," said Riki.

Zeno stood up, "I’ll help you find a nice suit, buddy. Come this way."

Riki followed Zeno to where the luxurious suits were kept.

Meanwhile, Kaivan remained silent. He still couldn’t believe what he was seeing and hearing.

Was Riki really just pretending to be poor all this time? But that didn’t make sense. Why would someone pretend to be poor? But if that wasn’t the case, where did Riki get the money? Robbing a bank?

That was even more implausible, as banks nowadays have extremely high security measures.

Kaivan was startled again by the sound of a call on his smartphone.

Video call from his cousin.

"Hello, Angeline."

"Kaivan! Look at this—Riki is giving me the most expensive treatment at The Queen Crown. He’s not messing around, so your words are unfounded. I’m always spot-on in my choices, including men." Angeline said, showing off what she had at that moment.
