Chapter 151:Coincidence
Chapter 151: 151:Coincidence
The battle raged on.
The Ice Dragon, surrounded by the shattered remains of two Titans and the burning frost of broken magic, stood tall and terrifying. Its wings, though torn, still rose like blades. Its body cracked with frozen might, thick with ancient mana.
The last two Ice Titans fought fiercely, slamming fists into its side, but the dragon barely flinched anymore.
It turned its head, slow and deliberate, like a beast that had sensed something.
Its glowing blue eyes scanned the area... then stopped.
It saw someone.
A human figure, running away swiftly hiding among others.
The hollow dragon’s eyes flickered, the blue glow trembling with something strange—an old memory. A shadow of the past. It looked again, staring through the frozen air.
Its mouth parted.
A sound, ancient and cold as death, rolled out.
"Léo’xavuth..."
The word shook the air like thunder wrapped in frost.
Bishop Polly, still under the barrier, gasped.
"Leo...?"
He felt it immediately.
Something felt wrong that startled him.
His gut twisted with a bad premonition. The temperature dropping further.
He looked around. The cavern was in chaos.
His men were either lying half-dead, holding their bleeding ears, or stumbling around in terror. Their dark cloaks were torn. Blood stained the snow. Some cried. Some screamed.
Others had already gone mad, laughing, muttering, or clawing at their skin from the magical pressure.
Mana was leaking from the earth itself and it was unstablly, wild.
Ritual circles were half-drawn on the floor, lines broken and symbols wrong. Candles were flickering. Artifacts pulsed in wrong colors.
Bishop Polly screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Stop lying down, you useless pigs! Prepare the ritual! While the Ice Titans are keeping it busy! If we don’t finish it now, we’re all going to DIE!"
The cultists scrambled to move. Some limped. Some crawled. But they obeyed.
Hands trembled as they drew lines again on the icy floor with silver chalk and mana ink.
One took a blade and slit his palm, bleeding into a crystal bowl.
Another held up bones of a long-dead beast, whispering incantations.
Rings of mana started to spin. Lights began to flicker. A hum filled the air.
But the dragon felt it.
Its eyes snapped toward the center of the cavern.
It shrieked.
A piercing, maddening roar.
"SKREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!!"
The Ice Dragon’s voice shook the entire mountain. The floor split in places. Stalagmites of ice rose up and skewered three nearby cultists.
One screamed as his leg was torn off by the blast of wind. Another simply froze solid, his skin turning blue before he shattered into powder.
The two remaining Ice Titans tried to strike again, but the dragon’s tail lashed out. BOOM! One was slammed against the wall and shattered into pieces.
The other was grabbed by the neck. The dragon opened its jaws and bit down, cracking the Titan in half like dry wood.
"Aaaaarghhh!!"
"It’s too strong!!"
"Someone save me!"
Men screamed and ran.
Some slipped on the frozen floor, leaving trails of blood behind. One man’s face was torn apart by flying debris. Another’s chest caved in from a falling ice chunk.
The air was thick with screams, roars, and the sound of bones breaking.
Still, the Ice Dragon did not care.
Its eyes were fixed ahead as if nothing else mattered.
Its steps were slow, massive, and final. Each step shattered the ice beneath.
Snow fell like rain.
The mana in the air spun like a cyclone.
...
"Master! Master Kael!"
Handel’s voice cracked as he shook Kael’s shoulders, panting hard.
Lyria crouched beside them, her eyes calm but her brows slightly furrowed.
"Master respond. You’re not allowed to die without orders."
But Kael didn’t move. His body was still. His eyes were wide open, blank—like his soul had gone out for a walk.
"Shit... what is happening?" Handel hissed, checking his pulse.
"He’s breathing... but it’s like his mind just vanished!"
And while they tried to wake him up,Kael could see them.He heard them.
He felt Lyria’s cold fingers brushing his neck.He wanted to move and yell
Smack someone and curse angrily.
But he couldn’t.
"What the fuck is happening?" he cursed silently.
His thoughts bounced inside his skull, but his body was no longer listening. He didn’t pass out. He didn’t fall asleep.
He was just... stuck.
And then it started.
The ground beneath his mind began to crumble.Darkness spread around him, thick and pulling.
He was sinking.Sinking deeper and deeper into a pitch-black void.
His breath vanished.Sound vanished.
Even the pain from the battlefield faded.
"What happened? Am I dying out of nowhere?" Kael thought.
But he couldn’t remember anything that would explain this. Not a wound. Not a spell. Nothing.
He floated in nothingness... alone.
Then..
A soft voice echoed in the place
It was gentle and faint.
Like a whisper through snow.
"Leonard...?"
Kael’s eyes snapped open.
"Someone’s calling me?"
A flicker of blue light danced in the void.
It shimmered like a flame made of ice.
Then another voice echoed.
[Leonard]
The sound vibrated inside his skull, deep and real.He turned and saw it.
A bluish flicker, pulsing softly, far away in the black.
Without thinking, Kael kicked, paddled, twisted through the dark. His arms moved. His legs burned.
The black mist fought back like water, but he pushed harder.
The voice grew louder and the flicker grew brighter.
Until he reached out and grabbed it.
And the world snapped.
Gone was the darkness.
Kael now stood on solid ground...
But not just any ground. He looked around.
He stood inside a kingdom made of frozen dreams.
The floor sparkled with crystal snowflakes that didn’t melt.Giant ice pillars rose high into the sky like trees from another world.
The sky above was midnight blue, filled with swirling auroras that danced in silence.
Frozen flowers bloomed across the glassy surface.
Mountains of ice stood like thrones in the distance.
It was beautiful.
Breathtaking.
Magnificent.
Cold—but not deadly. More like... welcoming.
Kael turned slowly, mouth slightly open.
"Where the hell am I now?" he muttered.
Then he stopped.
From the light ahead, something emerged.
A tall, glowing figure, bluish and ethereal, like a spirit made of snow and fire.
It stepped forward, arms stretched and spoke in a sweet voice.
"Leonard... is it you?"
Kael blinked.
"...Huh?"
